↩️ Refunds & disputes
A commission you paid on a sale that got refunded
This is the quiet way affiliate programmes lose money. Somebody buys, the affiliate gets paid, the buyer refunds a week later — and you're out both the sale and the commission.
The reversal is automatic
When the payment is refunded, the matching commission is reversed in the same proportion, in the same moment, without you filing anything.
Partial refunds shrink it
Refund half and the commission halves. The affiliate keeps their share of the money you actually kept, and nothing more.
Chargebacks too
A dispute freezes the whole payment, so the whole commission comes back. You are never paying out on money that left again.
Paid from the sale
the commission never sits with the creator
Refunds reverse it

The honest bit — If an affiliate's Stripe balance is empty when a reversal lands, the amount becomes a debt recovered from their next commissions. It is not written off, and it is not charged to you.
