Live virtual tasting on August 20: Barolo vs Brunello, capped at 40 seats and already more than half full. Book below and I will send your two-bottle prep list (both under 40 dollars) two weeks out. Doors close August 18 or when we sell out - whichever comes first.
Wine is a language. I teach you to speak it.
I spent 15 years on restaurant floors in Florence and London, ten of them as head sommelier in a two-Michelin-star dining room, watching brilliant, curious people go quiet the moment a wine list landed. Not because they lacked a palate - because nobody ever taught them the grammar. That is what I do now. No scores, no snobbery, no 200-dollar bottles required: just a structured method for tasting, buying, and cellaring that works at every budget. Most of my students practice on wines under 20 dollars, and most tell me the same thing within a month - restaurants got cheaper and dinner got better. Start with the free cheat sheet below. That is the whole method in miniature.
From my students
“I took the tasting course as a skeptic and passed my WSET Level 2 with distinction three months later. The deduction grid from week 8 is the reason.”
Sarah Whitmore · Course graduate, London
“Marco audited my chaotic 80-bottle 'collection' in one call, saved three Barolos I was about to kill with kitchen heat, and built me a buy list that has not missed once.”
David Chen · 1:1 consultation client
“The Cellar Blueprint paid for itself with a single section - the value regions list. My weeknight wine budget stayed the same and everything we drink got noticeably better.”
Amelia Fontaine · First Pour member
Good questions
I'm a complete beginner. Is this going to be over my head?+
The opposite - beginners are my favorite students because there are no bad habits to unlearn. Everything starts from zero: the free cheat sheet assumes you have never formally tasted a wine in your life, and the course spends its entire first week simply calibrating your palate with water and pantry items.
Do I need expensive wine for the course or tastings?+
No. Nearly every exercise uses bottles under 20 dollars, and I send exact, widely available recommendations plus substitutes each week. The whole point of my method is that a trained palate makes affordable wine taste better - not the other way around.
How do the live virtual tastings work?+
You get a short prep list about two weeks ahead - usually two bottles with budget substitutes. We meet on Zoom, taste together for about an hour, and you can ask anything live. Every session is recorded, so if you miss it you get the replay the next morning.
What if a guide isn't what I expected?+
Every PDF and the course come with a 30-day, no-questions refund - email me and it is processed the same day. Live sessions and 1:1 calls can be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance.
